Pre-1900s — Natural Water Source
- The spring system in Halang served as a drinking water source for early settlers.
- Families collected water in clay pots along the riverbanks.
1900–1950 — “Pahingahan” (Resting Spot)
- Farmers from Halang rested on the rocks after tending crops.
- Oral histories mention the falls as a landmark for barangay boundaries.
1950–1970 — Local Swimming Area
- The falls gained popularity for swimming among local youth.
- The twin cascades became known simply as “Balite” by barangay residents.
1970–1990 — Family Picnic Tradition
- Residents began bringing visitors from nearby towns.
- The path from Halang–Alingaro Road became the most used access.
1990–2010 — Rise of Private Development
- Properties on both banks of the stream began developing controlled access.
- The waterfall itself, however, remained recognized as part of Barangay Halang.
2010–Present — Tourism & Online Listings
- Multiple resorts now operate near the falls.
- Some map pins mistakenly placed the waterfall inside private lots.
